Half Day Adventure Sessions

Half day adventure sessions

Currently, we are offering morning and afternoon adventure sessions here at The Quays.

These sessions are designed to get children back outside and engaging in fun and challenging physical activities. These sessions will be run with a small instructor ratio to meet government guidelines and we will offer only activities that allow social distancing.

Bushcraft sessions

These bushcraft sessions may include shelter building, fire lighting, nature crafting, orienteering and much more.

What to bring

For bushcraft sessions children will need closed-toe footwear, and clothing appropriate for the weather such as waterproofs or sun cream, hat etc. plus a drink and a snack.

Sit-on-top Kayaking sessions

These water-based sessions will involve mostly sit-on-top kayaking with a bit of wobbly boarding if the weather is warm enough.

What to bring

For these sessions children will need to arrive beach ready (i.e. swimwear, sports top and footwear that can be worn in the water) as our changing-room facilities will not be available due to COVID-19 guidelines. Ideally children should be wearing wetsuits as well if they have one. Children will also need a towel, sun cream, snack, and a drink. At the end of the session children will be walked to the car park for 4pm to be signed out, still beach ready.

Please Note

We have made the decision not to offer full day sessions just yet as we want to limit the use of indoor space such as toilets and changing facilities. Toilets will be available for emergencies, but we do ask that your children use the toilet before arriving at Explore to minimise contact.

Wetsuits

We unfortunately cannot loan our wetsuits out, however, will be selling our ex-centre wetsuits for £10. If you would like to purchase one, please bring an envelope with your child’s name on the front with £10 cash in it.
